Reversible Taper Tatter's Hook
The Reversible Taper Tatter's Hook can be made from any wood I have in solid stock. See Turned Wood Samples. The Reversible hook uses a small piece tapered on both ends, and a sleeve with a mating taper. The hold is really quite good if the small piece is slid in firmly. If you're worried about losing the insert whilst riding in roller coasters (or taxicabs) you could secure it with a bit of yarn tied at the center and the thin part of the sleeve. It can be worn around the neck. The hook is a #14 metal crochet hook. A #15 or #16 hook can be substituted.
This is a Reversible Taper with a spike instead of hook, made of Tulipwood
This is a Reversible in Blue Mahoe with sterling silver wire. I don't stock Blue Mahoe, but sometimes have this and other exotics. You could ask.
