Birdseye Maple is blond or creamy white in color. The number of "eyes" varies a little. More striking in a big shuttle.

Maple has high strength and is moderately springy, but since this veneer is so thin it feels very springy. The texture is fine, the stability medium. See Wood Terms for explanation of terms.

Over all Birdseye Maple makes a delightful shuttle, especially for very small ones like 2 inch shuttles. It's one of my very favorites.
